Ballalaba Aniversary
The 80th Anniversary of the dedication to St Paul of the Ballalaba Church was celebrated with an
outdoor service in the grounds of the church on Sunday 22nd April 2007.
The service which was conducted by the Rector Revd. Ken Foster with Bishop George Browning delivering
the address was well attended.
Mrs Belinda Mackay who resided on a property for many years in the vicinity of the church recalled
many occassions when people gathered together and supported one another through all sorts of joyous as well as tragic circumstances.
Special guests were Mr Carl Thompson and his daughter Kay (who was baptised in the church).
Carls father Mr Bill Thompson built the church in 1913 with much of the timber coming from his grandfathers (Henry Thompson)
mill at Parkers Gap.
