Ministry Team and Co-ordinator's

MINISTRY TEAM and CO-ORDINATORS we are very conscious in our parish that we are breaking new ground in relation to ministry. The traditional Anglican expectation was that the clergy did the bulk of the ministry and if they didn't visit, for example, then the church wasnt visiting. Since we no longer have paid clergy and everyone on the ministry team of the parish is a volunteer this is no longer the expectation of our churchgoers. As a result of our changed model of ministry, known as Total Ministry, much more is being done. The Ministry Team are:

Archdeacon John Barnes; Rector. Responsible for all governance matters, Chair of Parish Council, Liaison with The Diocese, supervision of team members, Weddings and assistance with services.

Archdeacon Des McGuire Vicar. Responsible for the organizing and leading of all Services of Worship, Member of Parish Council, Publicity, Pastoral Care and Services, Social Activities and Fund Raising oversight, Rosters and day to day running of the parish.

Mrs Lynda Avery Community Chaplain. Responsible for visiting, Pastoral Care in the Braidwood Multi-Purpose Service and to the elderly, Crafty-or-Not and Womens Ministry Co-ordinator.

Mr David Avery Ministry Co-ordinator. Responsible for Assisting the Vicar with the overall Administration of the Parish, Secretary to Parish Council, Mens Ministry Co-ordinator, Pastoral Care, Grounds and Gardens Manager at St Andrews.

Mr Brian McDonald Lay Minister. Responsible for assisting the Vicar with the following: Funeral Ministry, Sunday Worship at all the Centres, Building Maintenance, Parish History and Publicity.

In addition Ministry Co-ordinators look after such things as:- prayer ministry, market stalls, concerts, Kids Connect 2 Church, social functions, communication, maintenance, pastoral visiting, fund raising and small groups, Verger and Sacristan duties.
